Blog Posting – Sound:
Summary Of What I Learned:
I learned how important sound is to production. Without sound production can grow to become incompetent. Sound is essential and it not only provides you with dialogue but also helps the audience gain a sense of the emotion the film is trying to convey.
Directions Sound Project #1:
Tell a story through sound effects and other auditory techniques.
Directions Sound Project #2:
Add necessary sound elements to your one-word film project.
Sound Project #1:
Our approach was to find and develop a car race sequence with sound. We used our own knowledge of the sound heard in a car sequence and combined it with some of our research online to gain a better understanding of the sound effects needed to make this work.
During our brainstorming we created an outline of the sounds in sequence of when they were supposed to be heard.
Our outline was crucial in helping us organize our sounds and help us understand when the sounds should be heard and when they fade out.
Editing Software:
Premiere Pro
Done Well: We did an excellent job with our foley work and sound effects. Our project sounds as realistic as possible due to the sounds we used.
Improve On: I think that the buildup to the race is the only thing we may need to improve on.

Sound Project #2:
My approach was to find the most accurate sounds to go with the visuals in the film. I wanted to make the sounds as realistic as possible, so I tried to foley most of my sounds instead of finding sound effects online.
During brainstorming of this project, I created an outline to make it easier to understand and edit.
My outline was super important to make this sound project as realistic as possible. Organization was a key, and my outline supplied that.
Editing Software:
Premiere Pro
Done Well: The overall project turned out great. The sounds I used and created explained the visuals and provided context.
Improve On: I need to improve on the sounds used when the visuals are focused on the group of people talking.
